There is a lot of concern over the “swine flu” which is also being called H1N1 flu. Fortunately, at this point, this new flu strain appears to be causing primarily a mild upper respiratory illness. If your child is only mildly ill with fever, sore throat, cough, and body aches, it’s okay to treat the symptoms and observe your child at home. However, if you child has had a known exposure to this flu or seems moderately ill, please call our centralized appointment desk at 651-256-6714 for an appointment. If your child seems severely ill or is in respiratory distress, they should be seen at the Children’s Hospital for further evaluation.
